News of A’ja Wilson’s signature shoe has been floating around since the start of 2024, and after the star inked a mega contract extension with the Swoosh back in December, the respective rollout was soon to follow. Now, somehow managing to navigate a scene that’s usually littered with leaks, Wilson and Nike have revealed the A’One in all its glory (spoiler free), alongside a full breakdown of the long-awaited shoe’s specifications.

Designed to cater to and enhance A’ja’s play style, the A’One has been engineered to offer the perfect balance of traction, support and cushioning. Underfoot, the silhouette features Cushlon ST2 foam that’s set alongside a firm base to balance comfort and responsiveness, while the outsole features a newly designed traction pattern for speedy yet secure stepping. ‘If you think you’ve seen my best, think again,’ Wilson says in a Nike press release. ‘We worked for over two years to create the Nike A’One to help me redefine the limits of greatness and advance the game to another level. My signature shoe is worth the wait — engineered for my game and my style, and built to motivate the next generation to go big. Just wait to see what we do with it.’

Up top, the breathable mesh upper features a ton of personal design touches, including multiple nods to Wilson’s family. The pearl motif is a tribute to her grandmother who presented her with a necklace that Wilson sees as a symbol of strength, and the outsole continues the homage through the wordmark, ‘As a matter of fact, the best is yet to come’. Elsewhere, the shoe also boasts Celtic symbols in reference to her mum and dad. The words ‘Weakness, weakness. We don’t have time for that’ appear on the heel, nodding to Wilson’s trademark tenacity. To finish, the shoe also boasts Wilson’s new signature logo. ‘When athletes wear my shoe or any of the pieces from my collection, I want them to feel the power behind that logo: the power to dream big, then put in the work — in style and confidence,’ Wilson continues.

As part of her work to inspire the next generation of ballers, Wilson has ensured that the A’One will also be available in kids sizing. ‘In A’ja, the next generation has a beacon to look to — an inspiration point,’ says Ben Nethongkome, lead designer for the A’One footwear. ‘She wants to lead the charge for young hoopers to strive for greatness. We designed the Nike A’One so that when girls lace up, they channel A’ja’s encouragement through her footwear, knowing they can be like her one day.’

A’ja Wilson’s A’One is currently pegged to touch down in May and debut in this ‘Pink A’ura’ colourway. Stay tuned for exact dates as they come in and find out more about WNBA signature sneakers here!
