Almost half a decade ago, adidas introduced a fresh-faced innovation to the green dubbed CODECHAOS, which was their disruptive spikeless golf sneakers. Team Trefoil’s run in the sport has been successful, with their franchises alongside the CODECHAOS being a favourite on the links across the globe. As the game of golf is witnessing an unprecedented popularity bump, adidas are launching the next evolution of their spikeless series dubbed CODECHAOS 25. Leading the charge is the BOA variation, with a laced variation to follow.
‘Nearly 5 years ago, we made the bold move to introduce CODECHAOS when traditional spikeless models were saturating the market,’ said Masun Denison, the global footwear director of adidas Golf, in a press release. ‘The impact this footwear had then and continues to have now is another proof point for us that golfers are continuing to look for spikeless performance in athletic and non-traditional silhouettes. CODECHAOS 25 represents a milestone for us on how we’ve made this shoe better over the past 5 years, especially during a time where golf has seen such tremendous growth and participation.’
For CODECHAOS 25, adidas have redesigned the outsole, and it boasts a new 3D TORSION plate that gives golfers better stability for both their swing and walking across the green. The updated plate also provides increased overall fit, while minimising midfoot bend. As usual with Team Trefoil’s golf range, the TWISTGRIP outsole is present, this time with a new lug shape that increases traction by 40 per cent. BOOST and LIGHTSTRIKE tech is present in the hybrid midsole, both working in harmony to cradle the foot while improving comfort and stability. The BOA iteration comes with the patented laceless tech, alongside PerformFit Wrap, which allows golfers to be fully locked in. The rest of the user comes correct with a layered knit and transparent PU film.
The adidas CODECHAOS 25, in both laced and BOA variants, will launch through the brand’s channels beginning on August 1.
