Remember when the future was all about flying cars and videophones? Well, it’s not quite what we expected but adidas are offering up the next step forward in footwear, with a public release of their 3D printed Futurecraft. Similar to that which was gifted to Olympic medallists earlier in the year, the all black sneaker has a knitted upper and an innovative 3D printed midsole and heel cap. The geometric mesh in the midsole has been designed with varying densities throughout its structure, which offer higher impact resistance in all the right places.

The adidas Futurecraft 3D will be available in New York via adidas Confirmed, with reservations beginning on December 13. You can also have a crack at picking them up in person from the adidas flagship stores in NYC, London and Tokyo on December 15.
