Few football boots are as rich in history as the adidas Predator. Originally introduced in 1994, the lineage evolved considerably over the years, but certain Preds went on to become cult classics. Among the favourites was the adidas Predator Mania, an aggressive-looking black, white and red boot worn by the likes of Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham. Now, the Pred Mania returns in an elevated version of its OG form as part of adidas’ ‘Made in Germany’ collection.

The Predator Mania was a boot that had evolved without forgetting its heritage. It featured very obvious rubber panels on the forefoot, born from the original Predator which introduced the panels as a way to improve grip on the ball. It also featured a fold-over tongue, usually worn as low as possible as an on-pitch fashion statement. Both of these elements are present in the 2024 version, but the soleplate has been updated to bring the tech up-to-date so there’s no compromise between form and function. Production of the new pairs has also taken place at the Three Stripes' Scheinfeld factory, meaning the boots come kitted out in ultra-premium leather and feature hand-finished details.

The Predator Mania has already returned in a couple of colourways this year, but we have no doubt that football fans have been holding back in order to ball out on this version. Pairs will land at adidas on September 9, so hit the links to secure yours on the day.
