UPDATE: The wait is almost over. We finally have a release date for the Air Jordan 1 High 'Bred' and the good news is that it's less than three weeks away! The coveted OG Jays will release September 3 through  Nike.com and select Jordan Brand stockists.

UPDATE: It's official – a 2016 retro of the Air Jordan 1 High 'Bred' is on its way! The news comes off the back of yesterday's Air Jordan XXXI reveal, the debut release of which draws inspiration from the infamously 'banned' OG AJ1 colourway. 2016's retro is constructed from full-grain premium leather and looks to be the most faithful retro yet of the legendary Jordan.

No release date has been given at this stage, but the shoes are listed on the SNKRS app as 'coming soon'. We'll keep you posted when more details emerge.

We’ve been hearing a lot of talk about Nike’s 2016 Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Bred’ lately, now it looks like we’re getting our first glimpse. This release has a top-grain finish on the red toe box, rather than the glossy leather we’ve seen on previous re-issues. From the photos it looks true to the original – with the wings logo on the collar and sizing printed on the lining next to the ankle. The shoe hasn’t been available since it’s last retro appearance in 2013, so you can expect people will be going all out to lay their hands on a pair this time around.

The Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Bred is set to drop on September 3 at select Jordan Brand stockists.
