The latest technical triumph from the Stripes has hit the streets, and at least one pair of lucky feet. The adidas Futurecraft 4D is the most recent revelation in an ongoing exploration of production technology, utilising Digital Light Synthesis to build the geometrical lattice in place of the traditional midsole. Essentially, the new production technique is an attempt to transition 3D printing methods into a mass production setting. For the time being, adidas are letting loose a small run of 300 units to friends and family, so the chances are it’ll be a while until you get your chance to feel them on foot.

The adidas Futurecraft 4D will be releasing to the public later in the year, limited to 5,000 pairs.
