The Premier League is back this weekend, baby! And Manchester City’s star striker, Erling Haaland, is stepping onto the pitch in a fresh new Player Edition of Nike’s precision-focused Phantom 6 Low.
Nike’s current catalogue of football boots is stacked, with Mercurials, Hypervenoms and now the fresh innovation of the Phantom line. The tagline for the launch was ‘So precise, it’s scary’, and Nike have backed up that claim by adding a new Tuned Gripknit upper, offering players super-accurate strikes. Working with athlete feedback, Team Swoosh upgraded the Cyclone 360 plate, updated the last, and incorporated a more natural fit into the toe box.
‘If there was one thing that I could ask a pair of boots to help me improve, it would be the precision to score more goals,' Norwegian pro Erling Haaland said of the Phantom 6 back in June. 'I feel like this Phantom allows me to do just that: shut off all distractions and focus on nothing other than attacking.’
Halaand’s new Player Edition Phantom 6 Low is inspired by his high-action play style, and also helps debut his new Nike logo, which can be seen on the lateral heel. The intriguing colourway dons fire red hues alongside yellow and blue hints, complemented by Swoosh branding in all the usual spots.
You can expect the Nike Phantom 6 Low Erling Halaand Player Edition to land at select stockists on August 18, with a wider launch through Nike’s web channels on August 21.
