Finally: Fear of God Athletics’ Basketball II Is Ready to Play Ball
Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God Athletics and adidas are finally ready to roll out the red carpet for the Basketball II. Boasting a streamlined aesthetic emblematic of Fear of God’s visual style, the Basketball II is being dubbed their ‘first true performance sneaker’.
Already seen on the hardwood thanks to Toronto Raptors guard Jamal Shead and LA Lakers sharpshooter Gabe Vincent, the shoe was also distributed among Fear of God Athletics' freshly-minted Overtime Elite team – the league that offers unique pathways, education, and top-tier training for young hoopers aged 16-20.
Available in both mid and high versions, the Basketball II will debut in the ‘Night Brown’ colourway, a classic cream and brown composition reflective of the Fear of God line more broadly. The high-top iteration actually features an old school collar strap, while the mid version features a cleaner aesthetic. Both editions are equipped with a hefty translucent midsoles that immediately recalls members of the Yeezy catalogue (not surprising given that Jerry Lorenzo is Yeezy alumni). At the time of writing, we’re still unsure what specific cushioning tech is being utilised, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates (we’ve got our money on Lightstrike).
The Fear of God Athletics Basketball II is scheduled to arrive this December. For more on Fear of God Athletics, make sure to check out details regarding their Overtime Elite squad.
