The latest dispatch from Planet Ja has arrived via the overlord himself – unsurprising, as we all know the Memphis Grizzlies hero likes to do things his own way, be it layup or leak. The athlete has revealed the next colourways coming down the Ja 3 chute, in cover-story convo with Aside from those already released – the 'NY vs NY', the 'Light Show', the 'Peach Jam' PE and the 'Price of Admission' – Ja waxed on the palettes still to come for this hallowed signature model.
All six feature the jewel in the Ja 3's design crown, the skewed-Swoosh 'J' and thrown-up 'A'. Morant told the publication that this element – the inspiration for which came from his own mucking around with aerosol paints at Nike HQ – was 'very important' to the shoe. 'I feel like that describes me the most,' he explained.
So, what's next up? Well, it seems the rumour faucet still needs a washer change because a couple of these iterations may already be familiar. The mismatched 'Channel 12' (aka the 'Hustle and Flow', apparently inspired by a poster for the 2005 flick of the same name) is due to drop on September 15. The clawed-up 'Scratch 3.0' features vintage Grizzlies tones, and the 'Snowed In' includes a Ja logo floating in a misty snow-globe bubble on the tongue. The 'Spooky Season' (aka 'Halloween') is a glow-in-the-dark marvel with creepy insole graphics, and is slated to land October 21.
The last two colourways are as yet untitled, one presenting a chocolate-and-strawberry dish and the other a tonal vanilla.
