Fresh off his gold medal with Team USA last summer at the Paris Olympics, Kevin Durant and Nike are rereleasing the Nike KD 4 ‘Gold Medal’. In the past year, Nike has returned numerous KD 4 colourways to shelves – some of which were grails back in the day. But all colourways serve as portals to a time when performance sneakers had the game in a chokehold. 2024 was an active year for the KD 4, and 2025 keeps the energy. The recently reported ‘Gold Medal’ is set to join the new ‘Real MVP’ colourway along with the return of the ‘Easter’ and ‘Scoring Title’ pairs. If you’re a KD fan, best get to saving.

The KD 4 ‘Gold Medal’ originally dropped in 2012 to celebrate Kevin Durant’s first gold medal at the London Olympic Games. KD has since gone on to win three more golds, but the 2012 medal was his first and it called for a special sneaker. As the name indicates, the upper is entirely metallic gold. Red Swoosh logos accent it on the famous strap and medial side, while the navy midsole features gold paint speckles, a popular design element of the time. The shoe sits atop a translucent outsole. With the ‘Gold Medal’ sneakerheads have another opportunity to relive the 2010s nostalgia.

First reported by @sneakermarketro, the Nike KD 4 ‘Gold Medal’ is expected mid-2025 although there are no official release details announced yet. Previous KD 4 re-releases have carried a retail tag of $130. Stay tuned here for updates.
