This Mismatched LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD Comes With a Message

There are statement sneakers and there are sneakers that make a statement. The newest Nike LeBron effort strives to do both. Touching down in the form of the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD ‘Equity’, LeBron James is once again using his platform to spotlight social issues.

Much like the ‘Equality’ theme that graced the LeBron 15 and 16, this pair comes in the same mismatched black and white make-up. Dressed in tumbled leather, the left foot sports a mostly murdered-out palette, while the right strikes a balance in bright white. Textured fabric side panels add extra points of detail, while gold accents arrive in the form of the pair’s eyestays, tongue detailing, Zoom Air branding hits, Swooshes and bold ‘Equity’ wording that wraps around each shoe’s heel. It’s this particular detail that calls out to LeBron’s charity work. The earlier ‘Equality’ pair saw proceeds donated to charity, but it’s not yet clear as to whether the same will happen with the ‘Equity’ release.
