UPDATE: Marc Johnson's adidas Matchcourt collaboration is hitting Europe retailers on April 1, but a Stateside release will be coming even earlier than expected. Along with a quirky clip showing Johnson teaching the shoes how to ride a skateboard, a release date of March 24 has been announced. Marc Johnson's first sneaker collaboration with Team Trefoil has been marked with gleaming gold initials. For his first model with adidas, the founder of Enjoi has tackled the Matchcourt – colouring it with chalk blue for his home state of North Carolina. Considering its designer's occupation, the shoe has also been tooled for skating. Suede hugs ankles to keep them unscathed, and the rubber toe cap – originally meant combat stubbed toes on the tennis court – acts as a resilient barrier stopping you from filing your toe nails with grip tape.
The Marc Johnson x adidas Matchcourt will be available from adidas accounts like on April 1.
