New Balance Are Dropping an Updated Version of the FuelCell Super Comp Elite v5
New Balance are the quiet succeeders of the running scene, putting out stellar sneaks that have won plenty of gold medals. The Boston brand’s catalogue consists of a few key franchises that host their signature tech, and hold reputations for being reliable daily drivers. For marathons, the FuelCell Super Comp Elite is the go-to, and now it’s been announced that the fifth version is being primed to land.
The FuelCell Super Comp Elite v5 looks completely different to its predecessor, and that’s because this variation has been completely revamped. New Balance worked with athletes to build out their latest, engineered to be ultra lightweight and host supreme energy return. Olympic gold medalist and New Balance triathlete Alex Yee played a large role in the creation of the v5, putting his opinion forward after extensive testing.
‘Our professional athletes' insights are integral to how we build footwear at New Balance,’ said Chris Morfesi, senior product manager of performance running at New Balance. ‘Alex Yee obsesses over details like the rest of our product team, so it's been fantastic to work with him, hear his feedback, and bring his world-class athlete perspective into the Elite v5.’
New Balance are set to launch their FuelCell Super Comp Elite v5 on August 7 via their online channels, with a retail price of $250.
