Nike’s Breaking4 Capsule Honours Faith Kipyegon’s Record Attempt
Few things go better together than Nike and running. The Beaverton brand’s roots trace back to the waffle iron in Bill Bowerman’s kitchen, when he created a running shoe that revolutionised the industry. For Faith Kipyegon – the current world record-holder for the mile – the idea of changing the game is nothing new. The Kenyan middle and long-distance runner and 16-year Nike athlete is seeking to become the first woman to run a mile in under 4 minutes. To celebrate, Nike is releasing a special edition running capsule.
The limited pack is inspired by Kipyegon's chosen challenge and presents a colour palette is as bold as the athlete's competitive spirit, including ‘Burgandy Crush’, ‘Oxygen Purple’, ‘Fuchsia Dream’, ‘Flash Crimson’, and ‘Electric Algae’. The collection features Nike's pinnacle product on offer – included in the pack are the ZoomX AlphaFly NEXT% 3, the Pegasus Premium, the Pegasus Plus, and the Pegasus 41. Dubbed Breaking4, it honours Faith Kipyegon’s goal of breaking the sub-4-minute mile time.

Those interested in watching the historic attempt live can do so on Nike’s social platforms beginning at 7:15 pm CEST on June 26. Supporters can also register to attend the event at Stade Charléty in Paris’ 13th arrondissement. Programming is scheduled to begin at 7 pm with the attempt commencing at 8 pm
