The Kobe 6 Protro 'All Star 2.0' is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. As one of Nike's leading franchises, the Beaverton team is putting plenty of steam behind the basketball legend's signature models. Ahead of the alleged release of the 'All Star 2.0', an in-hand look has emerged. Peruse the shots below and stay locked for updates.
The Nike is currently the most popular basketball sneaker. Last season in the NBA it took home this crown by totaling over 40,000 minutes of play time. Now it has appeared with a new twist. At first glance, it appears to be the ‘Sail’ Kobe 6 that NBA and WNBA stars have rocked on the court, but upon further examination, the TPU snakeskin-inspired upper has been swapped out in favour of a starry pattern. With this 'All-Star 2.0' model, Nike didn’t completely abandon the traditional mamba textile, the starred design fades back into the classic snake upper from the lateral to the medial side.
Since his tragic passing, Kobe’s shoes have skyrocketed in popularity this is due in part to the brief lapse in the contract between Nike and Kobe’s estate. For this period of time no new Kobes were being made and availability dried up, even NBA players detailed the great lengths they had to go to procure pairs. Thankfully for them, Kobe fans, and basketball players everywhere, the market has begun to settle back into a sense of normalcy as Kobe releases begin to be more frequent.
While not yet officially announced by Nike, the new decoration on this model seems to point to an All-Star Weekend drop. Historically one of the more important dates on the sneaker calendar, a release this weekend would perfectly coincide with the momentous nature of Nike remixing the uppers for the first time in the model’s history.
The is reportedly February 13, 2025 and will potentially retail for $190. Stay tuned as more information from Nike themselves becomes available.
