Nike Kobe 9 EM Low Protro Returns With a Full Team Bank Roster
Nike are set to reintroduce the Kobe 9 EM Low Protro with the ‘Team Bank Pack' in 2025, offering hoops-heads a fusion of performance and style. This collection features three classic colourways: ‘Game Royal’, ‘Lakers Home’ (‘White’/’Court Purple’), and ‘Lakers Away’ (‘Black’/’University Gold’), each designed to complement team uniforms and individual preferences.
The Team Bank (TB) series has long been a staple in Nike's basketball lineup, providing athletes with sneakers in straightforward, team-friendly colourways. Originating from Nike's initiative to supply schools and teams with versatile footwear options, the TB series emphasises functionality and uniformity, allowing players to maintain a cohesive look on the court.
The engineered mesh upper ensures breathability and flexibility, catering to players' needs on the court. Enhancing comfort and responsiveness, the models also incorporate a full-length React drop-in midsole paired with Zoom Air cushioning, replacing the previous Lunarlon setup. This combo delivers a lightweight feel without compromising on support, making them suitable for both competitive play and casual wear.
The Kobe 9 model itself holds a significant place in sneaker history – it marked a departure from traditional basketball shoe designs with its high-top silhouette and Flyknit construction. Introduced in 2014, the Kobe 9 was lauded for its innovative approach to performance and aesthetics, setting a new standard for basketball footwear.
Retailing at $180 for men's sizes, the Kobe EM Low Protro will also be available in grade school sizes for $120. The release is anticipated to be more accessible than previous limited editions, allowing a broader audience to experience the legacy of the Black Mamba.
