Nike’s Mercurial Vapor series has long stood as a benchmark for speed and agility on the football pitch. The latest evolution, the Vapor 16, launched last year and marked a major milestone for the line: it’s the first Mercurial boot crafted entirely from Flyknit. Offering a sock-like fit, the Flyknit upper wraps securely around the foot to deliver comfort, lockdown, and responsiveness at full speed. It’s also reinforced with Nike’s sticky Gripknit material, engineered to enhance ball control and deliver reliable traction in both wet and dry conditions.

Another key feature of the Vapor 16 is its innovative soleplate. The wave-like traction pattern incorporates cascading studs that maximise contact with the built-in Air Zoom unit, boosting both grip and energy return. A combination of chevron and blade studs enables sharp directional cuts and explosive stops—tailor-made for today’s fast-paced game.

With the legendary Air Max 95 ‘Neon’ set to return in 2025 for its 30th anniversary, Nike is celebrating by bringing the colourway to its high-performance football boots. The Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro “Neon” draws inspiration directly from Sergio Lozano’s original design, echoing the gradient greys, bold black, and high-voltage neon green that made the 95 a cult classic. Back in the mid-90s, Lozano’s Air Max 95 was famously inspired by human anatomy: with a spine-like outsole, rib-referencing eyelets, and layered suede ‘muscle fibres’ on the upper.

Look for the Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro 'Neon' to arrive at Nike and select retailers on April 14.
