Casual Swoosh fans will no doubt be familiar with the Nike Vomero name, but they may not know it as one of Beaverton’s biggest running franchises. Long before the Zoom Vomero 5 became a lifestyle icon, the Vomero line was known as a range of ultra-comfy runners, and now Beaverton are taking it to new levels with the introduction of the Nike Vomero 18 – the most cushioned iteration yet.

Designed to help runners push their limits and tackle longer distances, the Vomero 18 has been treated to the tallest stack height in the model’s line-up, measuring 46mm high – that’s 6mm higher than the Vomero 17. All that heel stack means that there’s plenty of room for tech, and so the Vomero 18 comes packed with a combination of full-length ZoomX foam as well as ReactX elements in the heel and forefoot, together providing the amount of cushioning while maintaining sufficient energy return.

‘We heard from runners that when they think of maximum cushioning, they envision a soft, plush experience that alleviates feeling the impact of the ground underfoot. We obsessed the details to give the running community that sensation with best-in-class design and technology,' says Nike Running Footwear Product Line Manager Ashley Campbell. 'That ethos is apparent throughout the Vomero 18, a shoe purpose-built to give every runner — from the everyday to the elite — the ultra-comfortable ride that is both supportive and easy on the body, and equips runners to achieve their goals.'

Female runners will also be pleased to hear that the Vomero 18 has been tried and tested with them in mind, though the resulting shoe is suitable for all genders. The rebooted runner also boasts a rocker shape for better forward propulsion, and its upper is made from a stretchy engineered mesh to keep things light and airy.

The Nike Vomero 18 will make its debut in 2025, with a release pegged for February 27. Stay tuned for more as it comes in!
