Late last year, PUMA pushed the limits of running shoes by dropping their insane FAST RB NITRO Elite runner – a powered-up super trainer that broke the rules associated with the World Athletics race day shoe regulations. Now, the Big Cat is continuing to rewrite the rules of speed, as they’re following up the OG disruptor with a laced version that touches down on January 25.

The PUMA FAST RB NITRO Elite LD (LD standing for laced) is built on the same crazy 58mm stack height as its slip-on sibling, meaning that it retains its mind-bending aesthetic and supercharged propulsion system. As well as the extreme-looking sole unit, the ‘Rule Breaker’ also comes kitted out with a triple stack of PUMA’s carbon fibre PWRPLATEs, which are nestled within the brand’s signature NITROfoam for the perfect balance of cushioning and responsiveness.

Anyone who’s already run in the Rule Breaker knows it essentially works as a cheat code for nailing your PBs. However, those who are worried about any security or ankle support issues can calm their nerves, as the new laced upper provides a more locked-in fit.

PUMA FAST RB NITRO Elite LD touch down tomorrow via select retailers and PUMA’s own channels. Be quick though – only 1000 pairs will be available worldwide.
