The PUMA MB.03 ‘Halloween’ Is Inspired by a Jack-O'-Lantern

With LaMelo Ball suffering multiple ankle injuries during the 2023-24 season, PUMA will be hoping he can stay on the court this season to continue pushing the duo's widely popular signature series. The MB.04 was the latest model in the series to drop; however, that doesn't mean the Charlotte Hornets live wire and PUMA are done with the MB.03, and the latest colourway involves a spine-tingling remix specifically engineered for Halloween.

Taking visual inspiration from the popular jack-o'-lantern, the orange and black MB.03 adopts striking bolt cutouts at the quarters and toe boxes that are intended to reflect the crooked smile of a jack-o'-lantern, which is further emphasised by eyes near the toes. There’s also plenty of extra candy for Halloween acolytes, including ‘Trick Or Treat’ text emblazoned on the ribbed heel cup and Melo’s signature ‘1 of 1’ and ‘RARE’ motifs appearing throughout. Elsewhere, the colourway is given some nice visual depth thanks to the marble print that is spread across the uppers. In terms of the engine, the PUMA MB.03 utilises lightweight nitrogen-injected foam that is designed to provide responsiveness and cushioning and uppers that are manufactured with engineered mesh for breathability and comfort.
