First teased by WNBA star Angel Reese in September 2024, Reebok are finally set to launch their latest performance basketball sneaker: the Engine A. Designed for speed, durability, and maximum court responsiveness, the Engine A features Reebok’s signature Energy Return System, a cutting-edge technology engineered to enhance propulsion and cushioning. A one-piece molded synthetic upper gives the model structural support, while cutouts across the outsole expose the shock-absorbing SuperFloat foam.

Aesthetically, the Engine A pays homage to Reebok’s Mobius line from the 1990s – famous for its dynamic, wave-like patterns. One of the most iconic models from that era was the Shaqnosis, which makes perfect sense given that Shaquille O’Neal is now the president of Reebok Basketball. Other famous models also include Shawn Kemp’s high-flying Kamikaze, a kinetic high-top hooper emblazoned with bold zigzag patterns.

The Engine A will put up buckets with the support of Reebok’s rising basketball roster, Team RBK.B. The lineup features professional, college, and high school athletes, including Matas Buzelis, Angel Reese, Lexie Brown, Nate Ament, and Dink Pate. Pate shared his thoughts on the shoe saying, ‘A locked-in fit, great bounce, and ample traction for quick moves, plus a look and design like no other. I’m excited to see it on the feet of hoopers at all levels.’

The Engine A will land at Reebok and select stores on February 13. It’s also worth noting that the shoe is retailing for $120, which is significantly cheaper than rival performance basketball shoes on the market. Check out the gallery above and make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
