Though adidas and Anthony Edwards have unveiled the AE 2, the AE 1 isn’t quite done making noise. As the seasons transition into American Football weather, likewise, the AE 1 is shifting from the hardwood to the turf.

The NFL season kicks off this weekend, and adidas and Travis Hunter have debuted the AE 1 Low Cleat. The two-position star signed with adidas when he was drafted out of the University of Colorado, quickly becoming one of the hottest names in football and now tapped by adidas as the face of the new AE 1 Low Cleat.

The cleated version of Anthony Edwards' signature shoe arrives in the ‘Best of Adi’ colourway, which was originally released as an AE 1 High. The gridiron edition maintains the same white and black aesthetic and features lime green accents. The build also remains true to the AE 1, with honeycomb TPU cage and mesh upper; it only swaps the rubber outsole for the Freak Plate 20 to be equipped for the demands of playing on turf. adidas have also kept the Boost cushioning, so you can be just as comfortable when running routes to making jukes. Check out the new ad starring Travis Hunter showcasing the AE 1 Low Cleat below.

No official release date has been announced, but the adidas Anthony Edwards 1 Low Cleat is expected to drop next year, possibly in May. Keep it locked right here, so you don’t miss a minute of the action.
