Travis Scott’s Next Nike Colab Could Be a Football Boot
There’s no denying that Travis Scott has played his fair share of stadiums, but that couldn't exactly have predicted his next Swoosh colab, which reportedly sees him apply his Cactus Jack touch to Nike’s Mercurial football boots. According to , LaFlame is ready to light up the pitch with two colourways touching down in the next couple of months.
While info is still a little limited, the first set of freshly leaked images show off the Travis Scott x Nike Mercurial 16 in a flashy black and bronze colourway, bringing a metallic sheen to the rapper’s signature palette. A second version has also surfaced, which sees Scott pivot to a black and silver version, calling back to the chromed-out velcro Swooshes that graced his early AF-1s. Working on the 2025 version of the Mercurial Vapor 16, the boots will feature all of the silhouette’s usual performance-enhancing quirks, including Beaverton’s most up-to-date version of their Flyknit tech (three layers instead of five makes this their lightest ever) and a 10 per cent energy return enhancement vs the Mercurial 15. While Trav likely isn’t too clued up on the specs, the collaborator comes in clutch on the design details, which arrive in the form of backwards Swooshes on the sidewalls and Cactus Jack logos on the medial heels.
While Scott is far from the first celeb to put his spin on a performance silhouette recently (let’s not forget he’s also released his own Golf shoes), the link-up has us scratching our heads. LaFlame is much more likely to be spotted courtside at an NBA game than chilling on the terraces, but his Instagram has him scoping out a few stadiums recently, and his lifestyle colabs remain hot commodities among some of the world's biggest ballers. Whether any of them will debut the Travis Scott x Nike Mercurial 16 on the pitch is still TBC, so stay tuned for more info as it comes in.
