The Vans Old Skool 36+ Is For the Modern Skater
Vans have a rich heritage in the skate scene and beyond, and with this comes an arsenal of half-pipe icons. One of the most famous is the Old Skool, which originally landed on shelves in 1977 as the Style 36. It was the second skate shoe Vans made, but was the first to feature the now-iconic Sidestripe and the first to host a suede toe cap to allow for the progression of skateboarding. Now Vans are honouring that rich heritage with an updated version of the Old Skool dubbed the Old Skool 36+.
First debuting in a collaborative iteration with Carpet Company, the Old Skool 36+ has a build similar to the OG Style 36 construction; however, it has a padded tongue and shorter toe cap added. All of the technical details are present, with impact-absorbing PopCush insoles, high-traction Sickstick rubber outsoles, and rugged Duracap overlays making them more than skateable.
You can cop the Vans Old Skool 36+ right now in an array of colourways through the brand’s webstore and select stockists.
