The Nike GT Future Is Born to Fly
Nike are throwing rocket fuel on the GT Series with the launch of the GT Future – a low-slung, high-tech silhouette that looks like it was designed in a lab orbiting the moon. Debuted by 18-year-old phenom AJ Dybantsa and rapper Wale during All-Star Weekend, the GT Future is equal parts performance beast and sci-fi flex.
The GT Future’s upper features seamless construction and a streamlined silhouette that hugs the foot, reinforced by an interior bootie and padded heel system for secure lockdown. Underfoot, it’s a triple threat – Cushlon 3.0 foam, a full-length Zoom Strobel, and a forefoot Zoom Air unit team up to deliver serious bounce and energy return.
Design-wise, it’s sharp and purposeful. Nike designer Jason Petrie says the goal was to make you feel something at first glance. ‘There’s an emotional response – it should feel like seeing a spaceship or a new sports car,’ he explains.
The Nike GT Future is slated to take flight Holiday 2025 at Nike and select retailers.

Colourways of Nike’s hotly anticipated GT Future keep surfacing, with rapper Wale seemingly handling solo seeding duties. This time, it’s the actual shoe designer Frank Cooke revealing a new colourway: a black and red edition that’ll scream ‘Bred’ to any sneakerhead even vaguely familiar with the Jumpman lineage. Release details for the futuristic model remain under wraps, but keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for the latest updates.

Wale continues to pervade sneakersphere headlines, consistently teasing the upcoming Nike GT Future. The latest orange iteration has been spotted on the rapper's feet during Miami's Got Sole activation. Holiday Season 2025 is still the window to watch for the release, so keep it locked for updates.
Rapper Wale’s been putting in overtime for the Swoosh, teasing a string of unreleased GT Future colourways – but it’s this mischievous ‘Grinch’ green and black combo that’s really cooking. Packing serious venom and echoing Kobe’s iconic Christmas kicks, this bold GT Future is the loudest yet. There’s no drop date just yet, but word is they’ll land in time for the 2025 holiday heat.
After being teased by Wale consistently over the past few months, a closer look has emerged at the Nike GT Future. Peruse the shots below and keep it locked for updates.
Wale stays stepping in the unreleased Nike GT Futures, showing off two new colourways. The first two are in the standard colour blocking, one coming in white and another electrifying the new model in Nike's classic 'Volt'. The third is a stunner though, coming in a bright blue that features LED Swoosh accents; however, the LED is sadly not expected to be included on the pairs released for the public (rude!). There's still no word on when these might be released, but the hype machine is running at full speed so stay locked for updates.
The Nike GT Future is generating major buzz during All-Star Weekend. Originally teased by US rapper Wale in a fire-hot orange, a new ‘Copper’ colourway has now surfaced – once again previewed by Wale. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for the latest updates.

NBA All-Star Weekend is all about turning heads, as the brightest stars all gather in one place to celebrate basketball. We haven’t even arrived at Sunday night’s main event and already we’ve seen Kai Cenat and Druski in the celebrity All-Star game and Stephon Castle receive game-winner and MVP honours in the Rising Stars game. The neck-breaker came after the final buzzer though when rapper Wale was spotted sporting a new Nike Basketball silhouette. Wale was a prominent figure in the sneaker game throughout the early 2010s and Nike Basketball have now tapped him to showcase this fresh model.
Not much is known about this mystery debut, but at first glance, it blends elements inspired by the Foamposite and Hyperflight into a sleek new sneaker. This one-piece moulded upper reflects the Foamposite’s DNA, while the ankle collar bears the image of the Hyperflight. Nike have been under siege as of late, but bringing industry vets like Elliott Hill and Frank Cooke back into the fold could produce the juice needed to jumpstart Nike’s next era. If this model is any indication that innovation is back to action in the design labs across the Beaverton campus, perhaps there lies energy afresh.
There's been no official word or announcement from Nike regarding this new sneaker yet, so stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for the details and tech specs.
