Air Jordan 2009

The signature Air Jordan line adopted year numbers after the 23 to mark its annual succession. The Air Jordan 2009 took cues from the AJ16 while also expressing the Nike Considered eco-friendly ethos. Designed by Jason Mayden, the AJ2009 inspired by the sport of fencing and was built with what he calls a defensive mindset. Letting the performance dictate the aesthetics of the sneaker, the AJ2009 brought the best of new technology with tried-and-true materials to continue to evolve the Air Jordan lineage. Under the hood, the AJ2009 featured double-stacked Zoom Air units in the heel with 6 articulated Zoom units in the forefoot for ultimate impact protection. As Jordan Brand evolved, so did their athlete roster. Chris Paul and Ray Allen were front and centre for the Jumpman, both of which wore the AJ2009 on court during the sneaker's run.
