VaporMax

Billed by Nike as the ‘Pinnacle of Air’, the Swoosh’s VaporMax technology launched in February of 2017 with the Air VaporMax. A culmination of Nike’s signature Air technology, VaporMax acts as a standalone sole as new innovations allowed Nike’s designers to ditch the secondary rubber layer that typically provides protection for the sportswear giant’s Air units. Incorporated with the exterior layer into one holistic Air unit, VaporMax also sees Nike casting aside the inflexible structural areas previously needed to maintain the cushioning’s given form. VaporMax also doesn’t need a bulky foam layer between itself and a shoe’s upper, allowing VaporMax silhouettes to offer a pillowy sensation and greater response than previous Air units.
