PUMA and Mercedes F1 Enlist Mad Dog Jones for Premium Collection
have been going hard on their relationship with Formula 1 recently thanks to a gargantuan boost in popularity for the sport since the pandemic. They’ve started enlisting the teams they sponsor for epic collaborative collections alongside artists and designers, and they have even tapped none other than for the position of creative director position and he's released his own F1-themed Next up, ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, PUMA Motorsport have teamed up with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and artist Mad Dog Jones for a sizeable collection.
‘This collection is meant to evoke the raw edge of motorsport; the grit and speed, rubber to the ground,’ said Mad Dog Jones in a press release. ‘A look into another realm of perception where the heat dynamics are everything. A sign of respect to the engineers and mechanics who dial in every fluid and part from nose to rear wing’.
The collection includes a stack of apparel and select footwear that all take inspiration from thermal visions of Miami. A highlight of the collection is the futuristic Spirex silhouette that dons a technicolour upper with Miami-inspired pink-hued midsole and specialised branding details. There are also two Palermos dropping alongside the rest of the pack: one hosts a similar build to the Spirex, while another is white and gum with a subtle PETRONAS green accent.
